Effect of Different Spacing and Varieties on Growth, Quality and Yield in Onion (Allium cepa L.)

The present experiment was conducted at the field of Horticulture Research Farm, Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) during rabi season 2019-2020. laid out in factorial randomized block design (FRBCD) and treatments comprised three varieties i.e. V1 (Agrifound Light Red), V2 (NHRDF-Red), V3 (NHRDF-2) planting spacing S1 (20×7.5cm), S2 (20×10cm) S3 (20×15 cm). parameters were observed viz. plant height (cm), number leaves /plants, neck thickness bulb diameter Number scales, length (cm). TSS (ᵒbrix), ascorbic acid (mg/100gm ), total sugar (%), reducing non- acidity (%) yield per plot (kg) hectare (q).The results this study revealed that combination application variety Red ( V1) with 20X 15 cm S3) best under conditions lowest values noted Agrifound 7.5 (S1).
